Timber Nook


Timber Nook

Yesterday at 8:45 we were put on the bus and got driven to Timbernook The bus ride took about half an hour to get there.
Once we got there we were put into three groups we were given five minutes to think of a team name and a little dance to go with it. our group name was the SAVAGE TREE SNAKES. 
Out of the whole time we were at Timbernook we did about two challanges the firsh challange was that our teams were lined up from tallest to shortest and we had to find a way to get a hula hoop to the other side of the line without the hoop touchinh the ground and our team had to stay conected. Then we had to get the hoop through the line without it touching the ground and our team had to stay conected. Then the other one was we had to build a human body out of anything there was lying around the forrest.
after completing those challanges we were taught how to do the Timbernook crouch because in order to cook your marshmellow you had to do the crouch. 
While we were waiting to cook our marshmallow we were allowed to play on some of the activities they had like a rope swing a tire swing ect.
The part I enjoyed the most was the rope swing because at the end you could let go and you would land in the mud.
If you wanted to cook on the fire you had to do the Timbernook crouch

My Mama Mia Pizza 2

In Food tech After we made our mama mia pizzas we were to design another pizza that if our first one didn't work we were to do our backup pizza. and this is mine.

The first workshop we were to design a table for the classroom and the winning table would be made and they would have it in your classroom.

My idea was a pull apart fish table with a white board circle head, an maltegger blue oval as the body and a maltegger green fish tail.

Red Skin Writing

Red Skins
In room 11 we have recently been doing persuasive writing and one of our tasks we needed to do was  write a piece of writing to Mr Billings to say why we need red skins and if it was up to is expectations we would get a red skin and this is mine
  • Why I need redskins
  • Because they taste good
  • I am hungry


Have you ever really really wanted just to bite in they sweet sugary goodness of a red skin? Don't lie I know you have. Well now I am going to tell exactly why I need redskins.

Image result for red skins lolliesMy first reason is they just taste so good. Don't you agree, yes of course you do. Redskins are literally the  best lollie ever. They taste better than anything in the world. (Mr Billings  am sure you would agree.) Just thinking about redskins is making me hungry.


I am so hungry right now that I could eat a container ship full of redskins. Trust me those are very big. I am so hungry  only crave redskins and won't eat anything else. I will die if I don't eat soon.

Yesterday we were given four pictures to write about as a writing sample for Mr Billings. And this is mine.

“Hurry up Bill, remember last one to the troth is a rotten egg.” Yelled Bob.
“Oh ok.” Bill yelled back.
They both started racing towards the feeding troth where the farmer dumped his breakfast scraps from the day before.
“I won.” Screamed Bill hitting the side of the trough.
“No I won.” Yelled Bob sliding up next to him.
“Lets just call this a tie.” said Bill.
“Fine by me.” agreed Bob.
As they started wolfing down their breakfast.
“Oh I just got a mouthful of dry bacon.” “Hey Bill where does bacon come from, it tastes so good.” Asked Bob.
“I don't know but it's pretty good.” agreed Bill.
As they finished  breakfast they wandered over to the river to have a drink when suddenly a shadow was cast above us it was Billy.
“What are you ham steaks doing at the edge of the river.” He laughed
“Getting a drink.” they replied nervously.
“Ok you can have your drink in peace.” He snickerd
“Really.” They said surprised. (Usually Billy would've beaten them up.)
They knelt down to get a drink when Billy showed the in they icy cold river.
“Come on I did not even get a drink” yelled Bob
They started kicking furiously trying to fight the current to get back to dry land.
“Help we can't swim.” They yelled.

This term RM 11b have been working on making our Mama Mia Pizza. where we had to design and manufacture the pizza using the scroll sconce doe we used earlier in the term.

Room 11 have recently been doing some persuasive writing Mr Billings gave us some options where we had to choose one of them and write about where you agree with the argument or not. and this is mine.

Should Students Be Allowed To Eat During Class?
  • Yes they should.
  • Because students might be so hungry and morning tea or lunch might be so far away they won't work or focus on anything they are supposed to.
  • People just get hungry.
Introduction
I am writing this argument because I think that students should be able to eat in class. (And because it's our writing task.) Anyway this is why students should be allowed to eat during class. Please enjoy.


My Smart Idea
I think students should be allowed to eat during class. Because students might be so hungry and morning tea or lunch might be so far away, that they won't work or focus on anything they are supposed to. (Teachers hate it when students aren't focusing.)
That is why students should be allowed to eat in class but their should be some rules about it like... they should be only allowed to have two items of food on their desk and that would stay there for the rest of the day. (e.g Fred put an apple and bag of chips on his desk to eat in class he wouldn't be allowed to eat his bag of chips and then go to his lunch box and put a biscuit on his desk)


Conclusion
That’s why I think that students should be allowed to eat during class!!!

Character writing The First Time I saw… My Chickens


In room 11 we have been doing a lot of work on character description and show not tell. we were set a writing task and we were to describe a character and we were not to tell the reader who the character was. and this is mine.

The first time I saw them was a week after my 8th birthday. They were huddled together in a brown cardboard box. Their feathers were a silky brown, and comb a bright red. I had never seen anything so adorable in my life. I named them Holly and Molly.


As they got used to the long grass in the orchard they were becoming more and more friendlier. After a week or two they ate the food straight from my hands. It felt like a tiny massage just for my hands.


My They are also quiet calm, they aren't the types of chickens that if they don't like being held they would flap their wings. Instead they just wriggle around and fidget. When they're not comfortable (which is quite annoying.) They also enjoyed being held and stroked by me and sometimes my brothers.


But there's one thing that they do that is just so annoying and that is they poop just randomly when they need to. Most of they time they either do it on me or I step in it. What's worse is that they are sometimes very dirty and end up getting my clothes very dirty.

In room 11 we have been reading a book called there's a boy in the girls bathroom. We were given some questions about the book and were to describe him using different character traits. This is my work!!!

What does he look like? (Beginning of book)

What does he act like?
He has shaggy hair, permanent frown, he looks like he hasn't washed for months
He doesn't need to obey the rules, and acts like he doesn't care.
And acts like he is unfriendly, and lazy.
What does he say?
What do others think of him?
He doesn't say please or thank you,
and is very rude, and disobedient to the teachers and other kids
They think he is a monster from outer space and the try there best to avoid him.
From this evidence I can tell Bradley has these character traits:  Rude, disobedient , mean, bully, cruel, cold hearted, immature, and impulsive.

He has a permanent smile on his face.
Slightly less shaggy hair.
He acts like he has all the friends in the world
He is nice to the teachers and the other kids.

And Hello it is a pleasure to see you today
They think he is nice and has changed a lot.
They don't think he is a monster from outer space.
From this evidence I can tell Bradley has these character traits:  he is now mature, trustworthy, nice, friendly, happy go and sensitive.

In Room 11 we have been working on Character traits, Character traits are someone's behavior attitude and personality. This is my work!!!

My first character trait description is about ANGER

I was inches away from the angriest person in the world his screwed up face a bright glowing red, his big bulgy eyes stared down his victim. I could hear him muttering curse words to himself but couldn't work out what they were over his thunderous snorting. He was twitching like mad now and repeating things over and over again “I am going to kill you, I am sooo going to kill you” he repeated.


My next character trait description is about HAPPINESS

He was bouncing up and down and smiling from ear to ear his eyes were wide with excitement, he was speaking in a high pitched voice it was almost impossible to understand.

In room 11 for maths we have been making catapults that we have measured the width and the length.

We Started off with a piece of wood that we had to measure and figure out where we put the spoons, nails and rubber bands. 

Then we would put together our catapult and shoot a stone, two beads and something else.

Mandarin language name tags


Mandarin language name tags

During mandarin we were able to make some name tags with our name in English, mandarin, and chinese.

  •  First we had to choose a coloured piece of paper.
  •  Then we had to fold it in thirds. 
  • Once we did that we would write our names on two of the three sides making sure we didn't write it upside down.
  • Then sellotape it so it made a triangle.
And there we have our name tag and this is mine!!!

Mihi
